The Vermont Ice Storm is, in every sense of the word, a "community" organization - run by and for the players, coaches, and their families, and all fans of football in Vermont. The team "runs itself" to the extent that the players even have to buy their own equipment and pay a player fee to cover insurance. Thus, we are looking for "anyone and everyone" who wishes to get involved in helping with out various efforts, making things easier on the players and coaches, and getting the word out about the Storm. Anyone interested in being a part of the Game-Day Operations Crew should call Dawn Miller (the Director of our Game-Day Operations) at (802) 578-6830. This is "volunteer work," involving selling and taking tickets, selling programs and T-shirts, controlling crowd flow, and so on. (you will receive free T-shirts, but this is, again, essentially a volunteer operation.) And, perhaps most importantly, anyone interested in being a SPONSOR - giving the team money or eqiupment or advertising or helping with transportation and so on - should contact our Sponsorship Coordinator, Jeff Miller, either by leaving a post on our Message Forum (here) or by calling (802) 524-0664. Jeff will fill you in on how to become a sponsor and what benefits our sponsorship packages provide for those who participate. (If you know potential sponsors, tell them about us, and tell them, for example, that our website gets over 2,000 visitors per month!) So "get on board" with the Ice Storm's operation. Our system - our organization - is the talk of the league. In 2001, only our first year of operation, the Team, Booster Club, and Sponsors (collectively) were awarded the "N.E.F.L. Organization of the Year" Award in recognition of how professionally our operation runs! Join up now, and bring a friend!!!! |
